About this exercise

A seated hip-flexor and core exercise performed with your back flat against a wall. You alternate lifting each knee and reaching the opposite hand under it to tap the ankle, while the wall contact keeps your torso upright and the alternating reach challenges hip-flexor strength and lateral core control.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor with your back flat against a wall and legs extended in front of you
  • Engage your core to keep your lower back in contact with the wall
  • Lift your right knee toward your chest, bending the leg
  • Reach your left hand under the right knee to tap the right ankle
  • Lower the right leg and return your left hand, then switch sides
  • Lift your left knee and reach your right hand under it to tap the left ankle
  • Continue alternating sides in a controlled rhythm
  • Keep your back pressed against the wall and avoid rounding your spine throughout
