About this exercise

A core exercise in which you perform a crunch with a small inflatable air pillow placed under your lower back, increasing the range of motion and adding instability to intensify abdominal engagement.

How to Perform

  • Place the air pillow on the floor and position yourself so it sits under your lower back
  • Lie back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart
  • Cross your arms over your chest or place your fingertips lightly behind your head
  • Exhale and curl your upper body forward, contracting your abs
  • Pause briefly at the top of the movement
  • Slowly lower your torso back to the starting position and repeat
