About this exercise

The Ab Tuck is a foundational bodyweight core exercise that targets the rectus abdominis by drawing the knees toward the chest from a seated or supine position. It trains abdominal compression strength while minimising hip flexor dominance.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor with your hands placed beside or behind your hips for support
  • Lean back slightly and lift your feet off the floor, extending your legs in front of you
  • Draw both knees toward your chest in a smooth tucking motion
  • Squeeze your abs at the top of the movement
  • Extend your legs back out without letting your feet touch the floor
  • Maintain a slight lean and braced core throughout the set
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
