About this exercise

A hip mobility drill performed in the 90/90 position with both knees bent at right angles. Leaning forward over the front shin targets the hip external rotators and inner thigh, while the back hip receives an internal rotation release, making it an effective drill for improving overall hip range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor with both knees bent at 90 degrees, front and back legs forming two right angles
  • Place your hands lightly on the floor in front of you for support
  • Sit tall and engage your core, keeping both sit bones in contact with the floor
  • Slowly lean your torso forward over your front shin, feeling a stretch in the outer hip
  • Hold the position for the desired duration, then return upright and switch sides
