About this exercise

The 90 Degree Crunch Heel Touch is a floor abdominal exercise performed with the knees bent at 90 degrees and the feet raised. You curl your torso straight up and reach both hands forward toward your feet, strongly contracting the rectus abdominis at the top before lowering under control. Unlike the side heel touch, this is a straight (non-rotating) crunch.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back with your knees bent at 90 degrees and feet raised, shins roughly parallel to the floor
  • Extend both arms forward toward your feet
  • Curl your head and shoulders up off the floor, reaching both hands toward your feet
  • Squeeze your abs hard at the top of the crunch
  • Lower your upper back down under control without letting your shoulders rest fully
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
