About this exercise

3-Point Standing Hops is a plyometric drill in which you rapidly hop between three marked positions on the floor in a triangular or linear pattern. The drill develops explosive lower-body power, foot speed, and coordination by demanding quick, reactive takeoffs and landings.

How to Perform

  • Mark three points on the floor in a triangle or straight line, roughly shoulder-width apart
  • Stand at the starting point with feet hip-width apart and knees slightly bent
  • Explode off both feet and land softly at the second point, absorbing the impact through your ankles, knees, and hips
  • Immediately hop to the third point with the same explosive, controlled technique
  • Reverse direction and return through all three points to complete one round
  • Maintain an upright torso and keep your arms active to aid momentum throughout
