About this exercise

The weighted standing forearm curl targets the forearm flexors by curling the wrists upward while holding a dumbbell with an underhand grip in a standing position. It builds grip strength and forearm size with a simple, controlled movement.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright holding a dumbbell in each hand with an underhand (supinated) grip
  • Let your arms hang at your sides with elbows slightly bent
  • Without moving your upper arms, curl both wrists upward as far as possible, contracting the forearm flexors
  • Hold the top position briefly, then slowly lower the weight back to the starting position
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
