About this exercise

The walking toe touch is a dynamic mobility drill that stretches the hamstrings and calves through repeated forward kicks combined with a reaching arm movement. It is commonly used as a warm-up to improve hip and posterior chain flexibility.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet together and arms relaxed at your sides
  • Take a step forward with one foot, then kick the opposite leg straight up in front of you
  • Reach the opposite hand toward the raised foot, aiming to touch your toes while keeping both legs as straight as possible
  • Lower your foot and take another step forward, alternating sides with each repetition
  • Maintain an upright torso and a controlled, smooth kicking motion throughout
  • Continue for the desired number of repetitions per leg
