About this exercise

Walking on the spot is a low-impact cardio warm-up exercise performed by lifting alternating knees while staying in place. It elevates heart rate gently, improves circulation, and prepares the body for more demanding activity.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and arms relaxed at your sides
  • Lift your right knee up toward hip height while swinging your left arm forward
  • Lower your right foot and immediately lift your left knee, swinging your right arm forward
  • Continue alternating legs at a brisk, rhythmic pace
  • Keep your core lightly engaged and maintain an upright posture throughout
