About this exercise

A beginner-friendly isometric core exercise where you balance on your tailbone with legs and torso elevated to form a V-shape, holding the position to build abdominal strength and stability. The sustained tension without movement makes it an excellent introduction to V-sit progressions.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor with your knees bent and hands placed beside your hips
  • Lean your torso back slightly while lifting your feet off the floor, balancing on your tailbone
  • Straighten your legs as much as comfortable, forming a V-shape between torso and thighs
  • Extend both arms forward at shoulder height, parallel to the floor
  • Keep your core braced and back as straight as possible throughout the hold
  • Hold the position for the target duration, breathing steadily
