About this exercise

A bodyweight core exercise performed lying on your back where you raise both legs and lower them to alternate sides, targeting the obliques and abdominals. The rotational component significantly engages the obliques while the hip flexors and deep abs control the leg movement.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on your back with arms extended out to the sides for support
  • Press your lower back into the floor and engage your core
  • Raise both legs together until they are perpendicular to the floor
  • Slowly lower your legs to one side, stopping just above the floor
  • Raise them back to the vertical position
  • Lower to the opposite side and return to center to complete one rep
  • Keep the movement controlled throughout and avoid letting momentum take over
