About this exercise

Twist Turn Slam is an explosive medicine ball exercise that combines a rotational twist and a full-body turn followed by a powerful overhead slam. It develops rotational power, oblique strength, and total-body conditioning while providing an intense cardiovascular challenge.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and hold a medicine ball at chest height
  • Rotate your torso to one side, loading through your hips and core
  • Pivot your feet and turn your entire body in the direction of the twist
  • Raise the ball overhead at the top of the turn
  • Explosively slam the ball down into the floor with full force
  • Catch the ball on the bounce or pick it up
  • Return to the starting position and repeat to the opposite side
  • Keep your core tight and use your whole body to generate power
