About this exercise

A prone bodyweight exercise that combines the classic Superman back extension with a rotational twist, targeting the lower back and glutes while also engaging the obliques. The rotation adds an anti-rotation challenge that strengthens spinal stability.

  • Lie face down on the floor with arms extended overhead and legs straight
  • Brace your core and keep your neck in a neutral position throughout
  • Simultaneously lift your arms, chest, and legs off the floor
  • At the top of the lift, rotate your torso to one side, reaching one arm toward the opposite hip
  • Return to the raised center position, then rotate to the other side
