About this exercise

The table top bridge is a bodyweight exercise in which you press your hips upward from a seated position until your body forms a flat, table-like surface supported by both hands and feet. It builds strength in the glutes, hamstrings, and triceps while opening the chest and hip flexors.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor with knees bent, feet flat on the ground hip-width apart, and hands placed behind your hips with fingers pointing toward your feet
  • Press into your hands and feet to lift your hips off the ground
  • Continue pressing until your hips are level with your knees and shoulders, forming a flat tabletop position
  • Keep your core engaged and avoid letting your hips sag
  • Hold the position briefly, squeezing your glutes at the top
  • Lower your hips back to the floor in a controlled manner
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
