About this exercise

A prone floor exercise inspired by swimming movements where you perform circular leg motions to activate the glutes, hamstrings, and lower back. The continuous circular pattern builds posterior chain endurance while keeping the core braced throughout.

How to Perform

  • Lie face down on a mat with arms extended overhead or resting under your forehead
  • Keep your hips pressed into the floor and your core lightly engaged
  • Lift both legs slightly off the ground
  • Begin tracing wide circles with each leg in opposite directions, as if doing a swimming flutter-circle motion
  • Keep the movement controlled and the glutes engaged throughout
  • Continue for the target duration, then reverse the direction of the circles
