About this exercise

An isometric chest activation exercise that combines a pressing movement with constant plate-squeeze tension. Squeezing two weight plates firmly together throughout the movement intensifies chest muscle recruitment and improves the mind-muscle connection in the pectorals.

How to Perform

  • Lie on a flat bench and pick up two small weight plates, pressing them firmly together at chest level
  • Keep squeezing the plates together throughout the entire set to maintain chest tension
  • Press the plates away from your chest in a straight line until your arms are fully extended
  • Hold the top position briefly while maintaining the squeeze
  • Lower the plates back to chest level with control
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
