Suspender Arm Curl

Step by step instructions, muscle activation and variants for the Suspender Arm Curl.

MediumBiceps

About this exercise

A bodyweight biceps curl performed using suspension trainer straps. By leaning back and curling yourself up toward the handles, you use your own body weight as resistance, making this an effective and adjustable biceps exercise without any free weights.

How to Perform

  • Set the suspension trainer straps to about waist height and grip both handles with palms facing up
  • Walk your feet forward until your body leans back at an angle, arms fully extended in front of you
  • Keep your elbows high and curl your hands toward your temples, pulling your body up toward the handles
  • Squeeze your biceps at the top and keep your body in a straight line — do not let your hips drop
  • Slowly lower yourself back to the starting position with arms fully extended
  • Adjust your foot position to increase or decrease difficulty
