About this exercise

Supine Windshield Wipers are a floor mobility drill performed lying on your back with legs raised and knees bent. You rotate both legs together from side to side, mimicking the arc of a windshield wiper, to develop hip rotation mobility and oblique control.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back with your arms extended to the sides for support and your legs raised to 90 degrees with knees bent
  • Brace your core gently to keep your lower back from arching excessively
  • Slowly rotate both legs together to one side, lowering them toward the floor while keeping your shoulders flat
  • Pause briefly when your legs are as low as you can comfortably go without lifting the opposite shoulder
  • Return through the center and rotate to the opposite side in a controlled sweeping motion
  • Continue alternating sides for the desired number of repetitions
