About this exercise

A low-impact cardio exercise performed by marching in place, alternately lifting each foot off the floor. It elevates the heart rate with minimal joint stress and serves as an effective warm-up or active recovery movement.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and arms relaxed at your sides
  • Lift your right foot a few inches off the floor, bending the knee slightly
  • Lower the right foot and immediately lift the left foot in the same manner
  • Swing your arms naturally in opposition to each leg to maintain rhythm
  • Gradually increase the height of each knee lift to raise your heart rate
  • Maintain an upright posture throughout and breathe steadily
  • Continue for the desired duration at a comfortable, steady pace
