About this exercise

A standing mobility drill in which you keep your hips facing forward and rotate your torso from side to side with your hands on your hips. The controlled rotation works the obliques and loosens the mid-spine.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright with your feet hip-width apart and hands on your hips
  • Keep your hips and legs facing forward throughout
  • Rotate your torso to one side as far as comfortable
  • Return through the centre and rotate to the other side
  • Continue alternating sides at a controlled pace
