About this exercise

A standing rotational core exercise that targets the obliques through a dynamic twisting motion. Performed upright, it trains rotational power and core stability without placing load on the lower back from a seated position.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent
  • Extend your arms straight out in front of you at chest height, hands clasped together
  • Rotate your torso to the right as far as comfortable, keeping your hips facing forward
  • Return to center and then rotate your torso to the left
  • Continue alternating sides in a controlled, rhythmic motion
  • Keep your core braced and avoid rotating through the hips
