About this exercise

A bodyweight self-resistance biceps exercise performed standing, where you use your own leg to provide resistance against the curling arm. This drill is useful for isolated biceps activation without any equipment, particularly for warm-up or rehabilitation purposes.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright with your feet hip-width apart
  • Raise one knee to about hip height and place the wrist of the same-side arm on top of the knee or thigh
  • Press your leg upward into your wrist while simultaneously curling your arm upward, creating isometric resistance between arm and leg
  • Hold the contracted position briefly at the top, squeezing the biceps
  • Slowly lower your arm while maintaining gentle resistance from the leg
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching to the other arm and leg
  • Keep your core braced and your torso upright throughout
