About this exercise

A high-intensity plyometric exercise that combines a squat with an explosive star jump, driving the heart rate up while developing lower body power and coordination. Each rep flows from a deep squat into a full-body star position in the air.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet together and arms at your sides
  • Lower into a squat with your thighs parallel to the floor and hands near your knees
  • Explosively jump upward, simultaneously spreading your legs wide and raising your arms out to the sides into a star shape
  • Land softly with feet together, immediately bending your knees to absorb the impact
  • Flow directly into the next squat and repeat
  • Keep your core tight and land through the balls of your feet
  • Maintain a controlled rhythm and avoid locking out your knees on landing
