About this exercise

A sprint mechanics drill performed with your hands flat on a wall for support. By leaning against the wall at an angle that mimics sprint acceleration, you can drive your knees explosively and rehearse proper sprinting form with low coordination demand, making it ideal as a warm-up or conditioning drill.

How to Perform

  • Stand facing a wall and place both hands flat against it at shoulder height
  • Lean forward at roughly 45 degrees, keeping your body in a straight line from head to heels
  • Drive one knee up explosively toward your chest
  • Immediately switch legs, mimicking a fast sprinting motion
  • Continue alternating legs rapidly while maintaining a braced core
  • Keep your hips stable and avoid letting them sag or rotate
