About this exercise

A rotational mobility exercise that stretches the obliques and thoracic spine by twisting the torso while the hips remain stable. Regular practice improves rotational range of motion and relieves tension along the entire spine.

How to Perform

  • Sit tall on a mat with legs extended straight in front of you, feet flexed and together
  • Extend your arms out to the sides at shoulder height, palms facing down
  • Inhale to lengthen your spine, then exhale as you rotate your torso to the right as far as possible
  • Keep your hips grounded and your spine long throughout the twist
  • Hold the end position briefly, then inhale to return to centre
