About this exercise

A classic Pilates exercise performed lying on your back with the head and shoulders curled off the mat. One knee is drawn in to the chest while the opposite leg extends, then the legs switch in a continuous alternating rhythm to deeply engage the abdominals and core.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on your back and draw both knees into your chest
  • Curl your head and shoulders off the mat, entering a Pilates curl position
  • Extend your right leg out at a 45-degree angle while pulling your left knee toward your chest
  • Place your left hand on your left ankle and your right hand on your left knee
  • Switch legs simultaneously, extending the left and drawing the right knee in
  • Continue alternating legs in a smooth, controlled rhythm
