About this exercise

The Sideward Shuffle is a lateral agility drill that targets the outer thighs and quadriceps while improving footwork, coordination, and cardiovascular fitness. It is commonly used in sports conditioning and warm-up routines.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, and hips lowered into an athletic stance
  • Step your right foot out to the right, then quickly bring your left foot to meet it
  • Continue shuffling to the right for the desired number of steps or distance
  • Reverse direction and shuffle to the left
  • Keep your hips low and maintain the athletic stance throughout
  • Swing your arms naturally for balance and momentum
  • Stay light on your feet and avoid crossing your legs
