About this exercise

A plyometric lower-body exercise combining a lateral squat with a jumping jack movement. You explosively jump your feet out wide into a squat landing, then spring them back together, targeting the quads, glutes, and inner thighs while keeping heart rate elevated.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet together and arms at your sides
  • Jump your feet out wide and simultaneously lower into a squat, bending your knees and sitting your hips back
  • Keep your chest up and knees tracking over your toes as you land in the wide squat
  • Pause briefly at the bottom, then explosively jump your feet back together to the starting position
  • Land softly with slightly bent knees and repeat at a brisk pace
