About this exercise

A dynamic side plank variation where you rotate the top arm under your body in a controlled sweep, intensifying the oblique and core challenge beyond a static hold. The twisting motion builds rotational stability and strengthens the entire lateral chain.

How to Perform

  • Start in a side plank position with your forearm on the floor and body in a straight line
  • Extend your top arm toward the ceiling to establish the starting position
  • Rotate your top arm and upper body down and under your torso in a sweeping motion
  • Keep your hips elevated and avoid letting them drop during the rotation
  • Return your top arm back toward the ceiling to complete one rep
  • Maintain a neutral spine and brace your core throughout
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching to the other
