About this exercise

A static lateral lunge stretch that targets the inner thighs, groin, and hamstrings by shifting body weight to one side while the other leg remains straight. The position opens the hip and lengthens the adductors effectively. It is commonly used in warm-up and cool-down routines.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet significantly wider than shoulder-width apart and toes pointing slightly outward
  • Shift your weight to the right side by bending your right knee and lowering your hips toward the right
  • Keep your left leg straight with the left foot flat on the floor
  • Rest your hands on your right thigh or the floor for support
  • Hold the stretch, feeling the pull along the inner left thigh and groin
  • Keep your chest upright and avoid rounding your lower back
  • Switch sides and repeat for the same duration
