About this exercise

A shoulder mobility drill performed against a wall that strengthens the serratus anterior and lower trapezius, improving scapular upward rotation and overhead shoulder stability. The wall provides tactile feedback to maintain full contact and prevent compensatory movements.

How to Perform

  • Stand facing the wall with forearms resting flat against it at shoulder height and elbows bent at 90 degrees
  • Brace your core and keep your lower back in a neutral position throughout
  • Push your forearms upward along the wall, allowing the shoulder blades to protract and rotate upward
  • Slide until your arms are fully extended overhead while maintaining contact with the wall
  • Slowly lower back to the starting position under control and repeat
