The Seated Side Crunch performed against a wall is a core exercise that isolates the obliques by laterally flexing the torso while seated with back support from a wall. The wall provides stability, allowing you to focus fully on the oblique contraction.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor with your back against a wall and knees bent at 90 degrees
  • Place your hands lightly behind your head or cross them over your chest
  • Keeping your lower body stable, lean your upper torso to one side, bringing your elbow toward your hip
  • Squeeze the oblique at the bottom of the movement
  • Return to the upright seated position in a controlled manner
  • Perform all reps on one side before switching, or alternate sides each rep
