About this exercise

A seated mobility drill where you roll your shoulders in full circles to lubricate the shoulder joints, release tension in the upper trapezius, and improve shoulder girdle mobility. It is commonly used as a warm-up or cool-down, especially for people with shoulder stiffness from prolonged desk work.

How to Perform

  • Sit upright on a chair or the floor with your arms hanging relaxed at your sides
  • Begin by lifting your shoulders upward toward your ears
  • Roll them backward, squeezing your shoulder blades together at the back
  • Lower your shoulders down, then roll them forward and upward to complete the circle
  • Perform several smooth rotations in the backward direction, then reverse to the forward direction
  • Keep the movement continuous and controlled throughout
  • Breathe freely and allow your shoulders to relax further with each rotation
