About this exercise

A gentle seated mobility exercise that rotates the neck left and right to improve cervical range of motion and relieve tension. It can be performed in a chair and requires no equipment, making it suitable as a warm-up or recovery drill.

How to Perform

  • Sit upright in a chair with your feet flat on the floor and shoulders relaxed
  • Keep your chin level and gently rotate your head to the right as far as comfortable
  • Hold the end position for 2–3 seconds, feeling a mild stretch along the left side of the neck
  • Return to center and then rotate to the left in the same controlled manner
  • Hold briefly on the left side, then return to center to complete one repetition
  • Breathe steadily throughout and avoid forcing the rotation beyond a pain-free range
