About this exercise

The Rotating Push-Up is a bodyweight exercise that combines a standard push-up with a lateral rotation at the top of each rep. This movement challenges the chest, triceps, and shoulders while also engaging the obliques and core stabilizers through the rotational component.

How to Perform

  • Start in a high push-up position with hands slightly wider than shoulder-width
  • Lower your chest toward the floor in a controlled push-up
  • Press back up to the starting position
  • At the top, rotate your entire body to one side, extending the top arm straight up toward the ceiling
  • Return to the push-up position and repeat on the opposite side after the next rep
  • Keep your body in a straight line throughout the movement
