EasyTrapezius

About this exercise

A self-myofascial release technique using a foam roller to target the upper back, including the trapezius and rhomboid muscles. Rolling slowly along the thoracic spine helps relieve tension, improve thoracic mobility, and reduce muscle soreness.

How to Perform

  • Place the foam roller horizontally on the floor and sit in front of it
  • Lean back so the roller sits across your upper back, just below the shoulder blades
  • Cross your arms over your chest or place your hands behind your head to open the shoulder blades
  • Support your bodyweight through your feet, with knees bent and hips lifted off the floor
  • Slowly roll up and down from the upper back toward the base of the neck, pausing on tight or tender spots
  • Breathe deeply and allow the muscles to relax as you roll
  • Continue for the desired duration, then carefully roll to the side to dismount
