About this exercise

A foam roller mobility exercise that releases tension in the hip muscles, glutes, and outer thigh by applying sustained pressure through controlled rolling. Regular practice helps improve hip range of motion and reduces tightness from prolonged sitting or lower-body training.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the floor and place the foam roller under one hip or glute
  • Support yourself with your hands on the floor behind you and cross the ankle of the working leg over the opposite knee
  • Slowly roll back and forth over the hip and glute area, pausing on any tender spots
  • Hold on tight areas for 20–30 seconds until the tension releases
  • Switch sides and repeat
