About this exercise

The Ball Roll Foot Massage is a self-myofascial release technique where you roll a small ball under the sole of the foot to loosen the plantar fascia, intrinsic foot muscles, and the lower attachments of the calf. It improves foot mobility, relieves tightness, and is a useful warm-up or recovery tool.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright near a wall or chair for balance support
  • Place a small ball (lacrosse ball or tennis ball) under the arch of one foot
  • Gently shift your weight onto the ball to apply comfortable pressure
  • Roll the ball slowly from the heel toward the ball of the foot and back
  • Pause on any tender spots for a few seconds before moving on
  • Continue rolling for the target duration
  • Switch to the other foot and repeat
