HardAbsCore

About this exercise

An advanced ring plank variation in which the arms are pushed forward beyond the shoulders, dramatically increasing the lever arm and loading on the core and anterior shoulder. Holding this position on unstable gymnastic rings requires exceptional midline stability and shoulder strength.

How to Perform

  • Set gymnastic rings low, just above floor height
  • Grip both rings and begin in a standard ring plank with arms extended under the shoulders
  • Walk your hands (rings) slowly forward until your arms extend noticeably in front of your head
  • Keep your body in a straight line — do not let the hips sag or pike
  • Press the rings into the floor and actively resist any rotation
  • Brace the core maximally and hold the position for the target duration
  • Walk the rings back under your shoulders before lowering your knees to exit safely
