HardAbsCore

About this exercise

An advanced core exercise using gymnastic rings that resembles an ab wheel rollout. Starting upright, you extend your arms overhead while the rings travel forward, demanding intense anti-extension strength from the entire abdominal wall and hip flexors.

How to Perform

  • Set the gymnastic rings to approximately waist height and grip them with both hands
  • Stand close to the rings with arms extended in front of you, core braced
  • Slowly lean forward and allow your arms to extend overhead, letting the rings travel forward as your hips extend
  • Keep your body in a straight line, preventing your lower back from sagging
  • Lower yourself until your body is nearly parallel to the floor or as far as you can control
  • Pull the rings back down and drive your hips forward to return to the upright starting position
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
