About this exercise

Repeated small jumps are a plyometric conditioning drill where you perform rapid, low-amplitude jumps in succession, emphasizing quick ground contact, calf elasticity, and reactive lower-leg power. The movement trains the stretch-shortening cycle and is often used as a warm-up, footwork drill, or conditioning finisher.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet hip-width apart, knees slightly bent, and weight on the balls of your feet
  • Jump upward with a small, controlled hop — just enough to clear the ground by a few centimeters
  • Land softly on the balls of your feet, allowing the ankles and knees to absorb impact briefly
  • Immediately spring back up into the next jump, minimizing ground contact time
  • Keep an upright posture, arms relaxed at your sides or swinging gently for rhythm
  • Continue for the desired number of reps or time duration, maintaining a steady, quick tempo

About the Continuous Mini Jumps

The Continuous Mini Jumps is a foundational movement that builds strength and muscle through controlled, progressive overload. Train it 1 to 2 times per week with 3 to 5 working sets per session, gradually adding weight or reps as form holds up.
