About this exercise

A high-intensity agility drill in which you run your feet as fast as possible in short, rapid steps on the spot or over a small area. Quick Feet trains foot speed, coordination, and cardiovascular conditioning.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet hip-width apart, knees slightly bent and hips lowered into an athletic stance
  • Lean slightly forward from the hips and lift onto the balls of your feet
  • Begin moving your feet as fast as possible in tiny, rapid alternating steps, barely leaving the ground
  • Pump your arms in coordination with your feet to maintain rhythm and speed
  • Keep the movements controlled — prioritise speed over height
  • Continue for the prescribed duration, then come to a controlled stop
