EasyAbs

About this exercise

A beginner-friendly abdominal exercise where you curl the upper body only a quarter of the way up from the floor, isolating the rectus abdominis with minimal hip-flexor involvement. The small range of motion keeps constant tension on the abs throughout each rep.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor
  • Place your hands behind your head or cross them over your chest
  • Exhale and contract your abs, lifting your shoulder blades just slightly off the floor — roughly a quarter of a full sit-up range
  • Hold briefly at the top and squeeze your abs
  • Inhale and lower slowly back to the starting position
