About this exercise

The Wall Push-Up II is a standing variation of the push-up performed against a wall at a steeper lean angle than a standard wall push-up, increasing the load on the chest and triceps while remaining accessible for beginners or as a warm-up movement.

How to Perform

  • Stand facing a wall and place your hands on it at chest height, slightly wider than shoulder width
  • Step your feet further back than you would for a standard wall push-up, increasing the angle of lean
  • Keep your body in a straight line from head to heels — avoid bending at the hips
  • Bend your elbows and lower your chest toward the wall in a controlled manner
  • Push through your palms to straighten your arms and return to the starting position
  • Keep your core engaged throughout to maintain proper alignment
