About this exercise

A rotational bodyweight exercise that mimics alternating punches with a full torso twist, targeting the obliques and core while improving rotational power and coordination. It doubles as a light cardiovascular warm-up or conditioning drill.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, and fists raised near your chin
  • Rotate your torso to the right and extend your left arm in a controlled punching motion across your body
  • Pull the arm back to guard as you rotate back to center
  • Rotate your torso to the left and extend your right arm in a punch
  • Return to guard position and repeat
  • Keep your hips relatively stable and drive the rotation from your core
  • Maintain a steady, controlled tempo throughout the set
