About this exercise

The power sled drag is a loaded conditioning exercise in which you walk or run backward while pulling a weighted sled attached to a harness or straps. It develops posterior chain strength, total body power, and cardiovascular endurance.

How to Perform

  • Load the sled with the desired weight and attach a harness or hand straps to the drag rope
  • Face away from the sled and hold the straps or harness with arms extended in front of you
  • Lean forward slightly and drive backward with powerful leg strides, pushing through each heel
  • Keep your core braced, back flat, and chest up throughout the drag
  • Continue for the prescribed distance, maintaining an even, powerful pace
  • Walk back to the start to reset for the next set
