About this exercise

A dynamic plank variation that alternates between a forearm plank and a high plank, building core stability, shoulder strength, and anti-rotational control. The constant transitions challenge your ability to maintain a rigid, level torso while shifting your weight.

How to Perform

  • Start in a forearm plank with elbows directly under your shoulders and body in a straight line
  • Brace your core and squeeze your glutes to stabilize the hips
  • Press one hand flat on the ground to begin straightening that arm
  • Follow with the other hand to reach a full high plank position
  • Lower one forearm back to the ground, then the other, returning to the forearm plank
  • Alternate which hand leads each transition to work both sides evenly
  • Keep your hips level throughout and avoid rotating them as you switch
