About this exercise

The pendulum leg plus is a dynamic single-leg swing exercise that trains hip mobility, glute strength, and core stability. The leg moves in a pendulum arc — forward, backward, and out to the side — challenging balance and hip control throughout the full range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall on one leg with your hands on your hips or lightly holding a support for balance
  • Swing the free leg forward and upward in a controlled arc, keeping the knee soft
  • Reverse the swing and drive the leg back behind you, squeezing the glute at the end range
  • From the back position, swing the leg out to the side in abduction, maintaining an upright torso
  • Return the leg to the starting position to complete one full cycle
  • Perform all reps on one side before switching to the other leg
  • Keep the standing leg slightly bent and the core braced throughout
