About this exercise

The pec deck fly isolates the chest muscles through a controlled horizontal squeezing motion. The machine keeps tension on the pecs while supporting the arms for a safe, focused contraction.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the pec deck machine with your back flat against the pad and feet planted on the floor
  • Grasp the handles with your elbows slightly bent and roughly at shoulder height
  • Brace your core and keep your shoulders down and back
  • Bring the handles together in front of your chest by squeezing your pecs
  • Pause and contract at the point where the handles meet
  • Slowly return to the starting position under control, feeling a stretch across your chest
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
