EasyAbsCore

About this exercise

The opposite crunch is a rotational abdominal exercise in which you bring the opposite elbow toward the opposite knee, targeting both the rectus abdominis and the obliques in a single movement. The alternating cross-body pattern increases the range of rotation and engages more of the core compared to a standard crunch.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor
  • Place your hands lightly behind your head, elbows wide
  • Lift your shoulder blades off the floor and simultaneously draw one knee toward your chest
  • Rotate your torso to bring the opposite elbow toward the raised knee
  • Squeeze at the top, then slowly lower and repeat on the other side
  • Continue alternating sides for the prescribed number of reps
